Mt.Fuji
Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan at 3,776 m (12,388 ft). An active volcano that last erupted in 1707–08, Mount Fuji is just west of Tokyo, and can be seen on a clear day. Mount Fuji's exceptionally symmetrical cone is a well-known symbol of Japan and it is frequently depicted in art and photographs, as well as visited by sightseers. We recommend here for climbing or trekking.
Kii-Area/Koyasan
Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located 60km from Osaka. The locations and paths for this heritage site were based on their historical and modern importance in religious pilgrimages. It was also noted for its fusion of Shinto and Buddhist beliefs, and a well documented history of traditions over 1,200 years.
Hokkaido/Niseko
Great view of Mt.Yotei, often referred to as the Mt.Fuji of Hokkaido can be enjoyed. Climbing Mount Yōtei also provides back country skiing.
Nagano
Nine of the twelve highest mountains in Japan can be found here. Nagano's mountains have made it relatively isolated, and many people come for its mountain resorts and hot springs.
